What rights do children living with or affected by HIV have?
Apart from the general protections that all protected persons have under the law (including non-discrimination, confidentiality, and informed consent requirements), children living with or affected by HIV have certain other rights, including to:
- Reside in and use a shared household without discrimination,
- Have their property protected (see how),
- Receive government-provided care, support, and treatment, and
- Attend school without being denied admission.
