Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act
Abortion in India is regulated by the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971. As the name suggests, the Act permits Registered Medical Practitioners to conduct abortion legally up to 24 weeks under the circumstances specified in the Act.

HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act
The HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017 is a law to prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS. The Act protects, through rights-based principles, people who are HIV-positive and those currently or previously living with an HIV-positive person. It ensures non-discrimination and guarantees that affected individuals enjoy their health rights including access to proper care and treatment.
